Thunder, thunder, thundercats, Ho!
Thundercats are on the move,
Thundercats are loose,
Feel the magic, hear the Roar,
Thundercats are loose,
Thunder, thunder, thunder, Thundercats!
Thunder, thunder, thunder, Thundercats!
Thunder, thunder, thunder, Thundercats!
Thunder, thunder, thunder, Thundercats! Thundercats!
Aaah! Amazing artwork and animation! Fantastic anthropomorphic characters! Cheetara and Pumyra! A 14-year old teenage budding artist with raging hormones! 1986 was a cool year to watch cartoons indeed ;-)...
Here is Liono getting pummeled by Cheetara; in all honesty, at first the drawing was going to be about Liono getting pummeled by a vixen female miscreant from Mumra's clan...the problem is, there were no vixen female miscreants on Mumra's clan (hence their evil frustration, I guess...at least Skeletor had Evil Lynn -- not that he ever paid any attention anyway...). So, I got to draw Liono and Cheetara; and by the way, Liono was not intended to be in the nude, but once I laid down the pencils on the detail of his anatomy, I could not get myself to re-draw or cover it.

The third picture is a 'modern' interpretation of a beloved character from a perennial favorite from my childhood - Smurfette. I miss the Smurfs...I discovered last year that Schleich (the German company that makes those amazing plastic animals) still makes Smurfs, though you will not find them at any standard toy store. I could go on a collecting craze again, but I'm on a (not self-imposed) budget for collectibles, so I'm only snatching one here and there...

I did not have enough time to color these (obviously), though I fixed the lead with a fixative. A fourth (and final) drawing coming up tomorrow :-).
Cheerio!
