It is quite possible that many of my fellow artists had not heard of 'Underdog' up until Disney created the latest live-action movie based on the original cartoon. The original series dates back to 1964 and was crafted in the true, 'old-school' cartoon style of the fifties and sixties, with other sibling classics as 'The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show', 'George of the Jungle', 'Roger Ramjet' and any of the Hannah-Barbera staple shows of the time. I am happy to say that I watched only re-runs of the cartoons in the late 70's - early 80's when I lived in Mexico City (which makes me much younger than if I had watched the original broadcasts ^_^). So, here is a pic of the original superhero....(click on the pictures for a full-size pop-up)

Thanks, Jonathan! I love the style of the cartoons of that time that is currently being emulated by cartoons such as Dexter's Lab, PowerPuff Girls, Samurai Jack, etc. Other faves of mine include The Jetsons, The Flintstones, Secret Squirrel, Atom Ant....ah, too many to mention :-). I'm eager to see your take on some cartoons in the near future, when you have a go at the sketchbook!
