Artbook Coalition

I think one of the lessons you learn early in life is to be prepared. In a creative sense, that means always having a doodlepad on hand, a pen nearby, scraps of paper all over your desk, sketchbooks in your locker, your car, your office, your backpack. Few things frustrate me more than being blocked by an abscence of outlet, so I try to stay well stocked. It really only leads to an eclectic mish-mash of doodles stuffed into drawers; single sentences of prose tacked to the end of workplace correspondence. But even if it's ultimately aimless, it's still satisfying.

Sweet, the very idea of having an artbook start overseas makes me giddy with anticipation!!!

Funnily enough, I just jumped onto the site to do a blog post voicing my decision to start a new book here XD although I've been having trouble sourcing new artists, there's no harm in getting one started. I also feel that I'd have no problems injecting sketchbooks into my art community back in Australia. There are some fab kids down under, I assure you.

By the way, I didn't hear from you about which book you wanted to join, so I haven't added you to any of the lineups. So let me know what you'd like to do. Another option would be to start your own book there in Japan and then mail it here when you're done. Something small like a moleskine would be pretty reasonable for shipping I think.

Dictophone! IT HAS A NAME...

You're describing the story of my life. A plethora of unfinished projects. Unstarted, even.

Tell me about it. I have far too many one-line scribbles and concept maps lying about. At least a dictophone could help to consolidate them all.

That describes SO well how I feel about this. For awhile now too I've thought about even getting one of those little recorder things, because sometimes it's faster to list things verbally in a train of thought than jotting them down by hand.
