I have had no time lately to do anything with the shots from Asia that I decided to sketch. So I haven't sketched. I've been spending a lot of time with Elmer's, though. I've been gluing a lot of stuff lately... I washed some glass bottles and took a lot of the word confetti from my other recent projects (see my Flickr) and basically plastered them to the inside of the bottles. It sounds goofy, and the (few) pictures I posted aren't great, but it looks pretty cool. It looks like a book smoothie, something Shakespeare would drink: a Salinger-flavored (digressive) Snapple.
I also made a secret book. Check out Flickr for the pictures. Didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would, as I fairly burrowed into it with the utility knife I had. It's actually a holder for my mp3 player and my Moleskines I carry around. I'm not too happy with this one, though, because it was rushed, and I tried to get too much in it, so the walls of the compartment (the pages) are a little thin and flimsy. The next one I do will be more specific, and I've got my next victims right here next to me, and I'm thinking about starting now, and listening to my current favoritest song... I can't get enough of it. It's so emotional and intense...
What else??? I really want to start writing again, and have some stuff I'm pretty proud of so far, but I need the time to devote to doing it, and I just don't have it.
Looking for ideas: I've got some other books (That actually would have also been great to hollow out, but is a little late for that since I've destroyed them) that I've torn out of their hardbacks, and the covers are in good condition. I want to find something exciting and creative and cool to do with them, but I'm not sure. They're about 8"x5" ish and one is a little smaller, but I don't know what I want to do with them. Thoughts?
