Scribbles and bibbles

I've finally uploaded the first pages of the official Japan sketchbook. I plan to do a couple more before passing it on to the next capable artist :3 I simply MUST glorify kamikaze girls in its pages (fear not, the very homely theme of such an illustration will be later illuminated).

It has begun!

I finally managed to find a decent sketchbook to start my tiny little arm of this project. I've only done a few sketches so far, but once I get the cover sorted (I wasn't able to find a blank-covered book here) I'll be posted some photos. The bigger issue is that I don't yet have any Japanese artists to post this out to when I'm done. I'm still working on it.

But in the mean time: Artbook 5 (I believe?): 'Home', is being born.

Start in your own backyard

Thus far most of the Artbook Coalition efforts seem to be based in the US. Rather than whine about the sketchbooks being so far away, I've decided to take Eric's advice and simply start one here. It's no real drama to relocate my daily doodles to a more mobile sketchbook. I'm concerned that it'll be slow to circulate, as I left my art community back in Australia last year and haven't had much luck infiltrating new ones here. However, if desperation strikes, I can faithfully send my artbook ba

Availability

I think one of the lessons you learn early in life is to be prepared. In a creative sense, that means always having a doodlepad on hand, a pen nearby, scraps of paper all over your desk, sketchbooks in your locker, your car, your office, your backpack. Few things frustrate me more than being blocked by an abscence of outlet, so I try to stay well stocked. It really only leads to an eclectic mish-mash of doodles stuffed into drawers; single sentences of prose tacked to the end of workplace cor

Amy, your drawings are fully awesome, as I've told you in at least 4 other locations. Just wanted to mention it again. Thanks so much for starting a book and letting us be a part of it!

yeah, I was down there on holiday with my mom. It's a real remote place, but beautiful. I love Tokyo, there is so much to do.

I LOVE KYOTO! I was down there a couple of years ago. The train station is breathtaking. I love the old temples and everything about it. Have you been to Nikko?
