Profile Information

Location:
Atlanta
I'm here:
As a contributor, As an artist, As an onlooker
About Me:
I'm a 22 year old freelance illustrator who is stationed near Atlanta, GA. I'm about to graduate from Kennesaw State. I like all things creative, and have a range of hobbies* from drawing to painting to scrapbooking to singing to ballet dancing to video game playing to nightly attempts at world domination through the use of kittens with the aid of my nefarious cohort, the KC.

*One of which includes the creation of fantastic run-on sentences!

Favorite Music:
I like Evanescence. A lot. If I could turn bisexual, Amy Lee would be the only woman who could do it. Anyway, I listen to a lot of different types of music, but tend to enjoy Rock, Alternative, and Video Game Remixes the most.
Favorite Books:
I read a lot of books. I've been a book worm my entire life, so just picking a few favorites is difficult. My all time favorite book though, which caused me more grief than trying to herd ants to get ahold of, is "Circle in the Sea" by Steven Senn. Yeah I know-- not some fantastic literary great, but sue me. It's a damn good story. Other than that I like to read just about anything ranging from code manuals to fantasy novels.
Favorite Movies & TV:
I wouldn't own a television if they weren't conducive to playing video games. I do not get cable nor do I watch anything they show on TV these days.

I also apparently have never seen a movie in my life, according to my friends and family. For the record though, The Lion King is still an undying favorite of mine since I was like... eight. That's right, a Disney Flick. >.>

Sketch Meme

I did a sketch meme on my Livejournal where the first ten people to respond to the entry could request a sketch of their choice. I got some interesting requests, and I've already done three of them. I thought I'd spam you guys with them as well!

The request was "Something Tentacle-y"

Vacation From A Vacation

Man, I am the laziest sucker on the planet. My cousin Chris was in town for the past week, and we attended an anime con over the weekend... as we've been doing for the past seven years. He flies down on a Tuesday, stays 'til the next Tuesday, and Anime Weekend Atlanta is always there in the middle somewhere. We had a freakin' blast, but I became an apathetic loser about school during the fun-times.

How does that work? Well, skipping class, leaving class early, failing quizzes, not worki… Continue

Emo Fairies

I'm on a roll this semester. The creative juices are flowing and the classes demanding. If only I scanned in every sketch that I ever did. Both my computer and the intarwebs would BLOW UP from the constant spam. And even then, I totally don't draw enough. >.>

So in recent light of discovering a totally crazy good new artist that I admire, (named Adam Hughes, whose website can be found here) I've decided to go on a portrait drawing spree (not… Continue

Sprinkles

So what is an art blog for, anyway? For posting art! So here's some of my latest stuff:

I'm in an Advanced Drawing Class on the Independent Study track, which basically means that I get to design my own curriculum. That's good, since I'm trying to train to be an Illustrator by being a Drawing and Painting major. Makes no sense? I don't think so… Continue

Hello World

Like I need another blog. I need it like I need another hole in my he-- err, um.

So I'm member #155. Whoa-times. That is all for now since I desperately need to do some homework, and I still have a few more daily websites to plunge through before I get started. Funny how Internet Addiction works, yes? You start out with just e-mail, then you move to LiveJournal, MySpace, Facebook, and a few webcomics, and before you know it, you're a member of nearly every forum, community, and… Continue

Ah, nice point! ^_^ The label 'starving artist' does indeed apply (and I know a couple of them!!) This is one of the premises of why I am somewhat disenchanted with the 'fine art' scene, nationally and internationally (if it is of any interest, I have a blog post on 'Art for Art's Sake' in my profile). In any case, I'm enjoying seeing yours and the art of so many artists on ArtbookCoalition; it makes me feel right at home ;-).

I asked to put on Throw-back Toon, unfortunately without much in the way of a scanner, I fear I may not land anything because I can't upload any kind of portfolio.
